While the world still struggles with the COVID-19 pandemic, the scientists remind about the upcoming climate crisis. Over 80,000 scientists call for immediate action to protect the surface waters if "humanity wishes to avoid calamitous consequences".

We hereby invite you to join the Doctoral School of Poznan University of Medical Sciences! PUMS Doctoral School has received funding for the project "Towards unmet clinical and educational needs at PUMS" submitted within the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) STER Program - Internationalization of doctoral schools.

The University Senate has appointed six members of the University Council for the 2020-2024 term. The Council is a board of trustees whose role is to oversee the strategic goals of the School, financial policy and to improve the professional management structure.

Researchers from Stanford University have compiled a ranking of top 2% most cited scientists in the world using an algorithm based on h-index, work experience, field of study and other factors. We are proud to share that several of our colleagues from PUMS have ranked high enough to be included in this ranking.

We would like to shortly report the results of the 2nd Transatlantic Orthopaedic Live Surgery Broadcast 2020, which was held on-line on Monday, 16th of November 2020. The Webinar ‘s main theme was Pro- And Reactive Surgeries For Spastic Hip Disease In Cerebral Palsy Children and it was directed by prof. Marek Jóźwiak.

Dr. Timothy A. Wingert, the Dean and Professor at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry, has been named a Fulbright Scholar to Poland. As part of this award, Dr. Wingert will teach students in the program and work with faculty and administration at PUMS regarding curriculum and academic programming.

A team of Polish and international scientists lead by assoc. prof. Łukasz Szarpak from Maria Sklodowska-Curie Medical University in Warsaw and including dr. Marek Dąbrowski from PUMS Department of Medical Education has developed a device to help medical staff work on patients with suspected infectious diseases. Schematics of the isolation device have been submitted to the Polish Patent Office.

The Poznan Council of Rectors comprising rectors of all public higher education institutions of our city and presided by PUMS Rector Andrzej Tykarski has issued the following statement regarding the recent events in the country:
