We cordially invite medical students in their 5th and 6th years of studies, PhD students and PUMS post-graduate medical internship trainees, to participate in the five-day event International Exchange in Brno at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, that will take place on June 24-28, 2024. Participation in the event is registered as international training, and participants receive 2 ECTS points.

The Student Electoral Commission has announced the deadlines for submitting candidacies for representatives to the University Student Government Council (RUSS)! On May 9, 2024, we will elect representatives for the term from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2026!
We encourage all of you to participate not only in the elections but also in submitting your candidacies. We also face the challenge of surpassing the turnout from the previous elections, which was only 17%.
We are proud to share the application results of PUMS students and graduates in the 2024 US National Residency Matching Program: 100% of our current final year students who applied for medical residency in the USA this year have matched. The overall match rate for our school for this year, including applications of graduates from previous years, is at 83% - significantly above the average result for international medical graduates (IMGs) of 61%.
We are delighted to announce the expansion of the partnership between PUMS and Kaplan, Inc. aimed at providing students with an enriched suite of services. Effective immediately, medical and dental students will benefit from Kaplan resources throughout their academic journey, from enrollment to graduation.
The Electoral College, convened on February 27th, has elected Prof. Zbigniew Krasiński, MD, PhD, as the new President of Poznan University of Medical Sciences.
Starting from January 1, 2024, prof. Marek Niedziela, the Chair of Pediatric Endocrinology and Rheumatology Department at PUMS, has joined the team of experts in the Editorial Board at the European Thyroid Journal as Associate Editor in charge of pediatric thyroidology section.
It is with great joy and pride that we announce that Dr. Emilia Jakubowska, assistant professor at PUMS' Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Industrial Pharmacy Division, has received a prestigious Maria Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship grant under Horizon Europe programme, in collaboration with Vysoká škola chemicko-technologická v Praze (University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague), Czech Republic.
The annual great finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is already behind us, but the fundraising still continues with our student newspaper PULS and our academic community.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of initiating teaching in full-time programs in English at PUMS, the Center for Medical Education in English planned a festive celebration for October 26-28, 2023, consisting of several major events: a teaching conference, a gala, workshops, guided tours, a festive student awards evening, and a series of smaller social events.
With great sadness, we share the somber news that PUMS alumnus and long-time faculty member, Prof. Wiesław Trzeciak, MD, MSc, PhD, passed away on December 31, 2023.
