PUMS Expands Partnership with Kaplan to Enhance Student Services
We are delighted to announce the expansion of the partnership between PUMS and Kaplan, Inc. aimed at providing students with an enriched suite of services. Effective immediately, medical and dental students will benefit from Kaplan resources throughout their academic journey, from enrollment to graduation.
The expanded resources are offered in addition to the services already in place: the annual hybrid on-campus/live online basic science review class, led by Kaplan instructors. Digital USMLE prep assets, previously available to PUMS students for a limited time, will now be available for the whole duration of studies. Moreover, Kaplan will now also provide aspiring physicians at PUMS access to i-Human Patients, a cloud-based, interactive patient encounter simulation platform. This integration enables students to engage in safe, repeatable, fully-graded clinical patient encounters on their devices, at their convenience.
As part of this expanded partnership, dental students will now have the opportunity to prepare comprehensively for the INBDE®, the latest dental licensure exam in the United States, utilizing Kaplan’s suite of digital resources. These include the INBDE Board Prep & Case Review, and QBank comprising over 2,600 highly realistic, image-based questions. Detailed performance reports will aid students in identifying their strengths and weaknesses.
PUMS faculty can now also leverage resources such as Kaplan’s Educator Portal and Quiz Builder. Prof. Aleksandra Uruska, the Director of the Center for Medical Education in English at PUMS, expressed, “One of our main goals as a university has always been educating highly competent, skilled, and employable medical professionals, who meet the highest professional requirements in Poland and abroad. Over the years, the robust resources provided to us by Kaplan have proven to be very efficient in helping us achieve this goal. We have experienced a significant improvement in our USMLE Step 1 pass rates and have seen stronger results on other national licensure examinations since introducing Kaplan’s tools and courses to our international student cohort over 10 years ago. We are looking forward to building on this success and developing our cooperation further for the benefit of our students and graduates.”
