Guest Lecture by Dr. Michael Nowak: Medicine & Medical Mission Trips
On October 8, 2025, we will have the pleasure to host Dr. Michael Nowak - a Physician Assistant, Clinician & Educator from University of Tennessee Medical Center, for an open guest lecture on Medicine & Medical Mission Trips.

Dr. Nowak completed his Doctor of Medical Science degree from the medical school at Lincoln Memorial University, PA degree from Saint Francis University and has undergraduate degrees in Medical Technology and Cytotechnology from the University at Buffalo and Upstate Medical University.
Dr. Nowak currently works clinically and has enjoyed helping tens of thousands of patients over the years, including many at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has extensive experience in Hospital Medicine, Family Medicine, and Surgery including Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Nowak is very active in different medical organizations, has received various awards, and has spoken at numerous state and national conferences.
Besides being passionate about medical education, Dr. Nowak is also passionate about medical missions and started a yearly Medical Mission Trip to Guatemala. For over a decade now, he has taken students interested in medicine, medical professionals, and other volunteers to the poor mountain villages (aldeas) and/or small community hospital to help the medically underserved by providing free medical care.
