Polish Champions in Surgical Suturing
We are proud to share that a team of PUMS students won the title of Polish Champions in Surgical Suturing during the 4th Medical Students Polish Championships in Surgical Suturing held in May in Zielona Góra.
The team, consisting of: Patrycja Rusin (team captain), Filip Robakowski, Michał Bardan and Dawid Woszczyk, competed in 6 tasks: vertical and horizontal mattress suture, intracutaneous suture, side-to-side intestinal anastomosis, plasty with displacement of the rhomboid flap by Limberg's method, and preparation of a "special" wound designed by the organizers. The leader of each team additionally answered 5 questions on surgical theory, for which points were also awarded. The evaluation was based on the skill, correctness, diligence and precision of the tasks.
