Last Farewell to Prof. Geoffrey Shaw
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of prof. Geoffrey Shaw on March 22, 2022.
Professor Geoffrey Shaw, DDS (U. Birm.), FDSRCS (Eng.), was one of the pioneers who developed formal and practical bases of programs in English at PUMS. Prof. Shaw’s academic experience, personal qualities, and – above all else – the empathy he showed to his students and fellow teachers alike, made his help in establishing programs in English invaluable. Prof. Shaw was an outstanding dentist and a devoted teacher whose guidance and encouragement helped to develop and establish English-language programs in Poznan and in other international institutions. For his achievements, prof. Shaw was awarded prof. Jurasz Award by PUMS in 2021.
Our heartfelt condolences go to his family and close ones. He will be dearly missed at the University.
