Minister of Health Visits PUMS
On January 24, PUMS had the pleasure to host the Minister for Health, dr. Adam Niedzielski. The visit was an occasion to present the ministry’s plans to develop the medical personnel, including promotion of medical studies among young people, and changes in the course of studies, among others.
The ministry emphasizes the importance of making the first years of studies more practical, as well as of developing soft skills such as communication, professional responsibility, and stress management. An interesting part was also a discussion of changes in postgraduate training, e.g. an exemption from the oral exam. Moreover, during the meeting, the Director General of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, dr. Grażyna Żebrowska presented The Program of Prof. Walczak, which will facilitate the international mobility of researchers from medical fields to the US.
Vice-minister Piotr Bromber presented the Ministry awards to prof. Janusz Witkowski for lifetime achievements, prof. Justyna Mikuła-Pietrasik on behalf of the research team, and assoc. prof. Anna Gotz-Więckowska for didactics. After the meeting, the Minister visited the construction site of the Central Integrated Clinical Hospital.
