Assoc. prof. Piotr Rzymski from PUMS Department of Environmental Medicine was appointed Scientific Director of the USERN Universal Scientific Education and Research Network.

The USERN network has currently over 18 thousand members from 120 countries, including 19 Nobel and Abel Prize winners. It was created in 2016 by a distinguished Iranian immunologist, prof. Nima Rezaei, with the goal of becoming a safe common platform to conduct and promote international research beyond cultural and political borders. It organizes cyclical congresses, issues statements on crucial public health policies, rewards promising scientists, stimulates cooperation between young researchers and those that are already very experienced. The network also organizes arts and sports events, as well as charity drives.

As a regular member of the network in 2021, assoc. prof. Rzymski was tasked with increasing access to verified information on CoViD-19 and vaccinations in developing and underdeveloped countries. In order to advance this cause, dr Rzymski built on documents created by the Science Against the Pandemic initiative that have been translated to English, Russian and Persian, and subsequently distributed in several dozens of countries, often becoming the first source of information on this topic in local area. For his extensive efforts put in science communication Piotr Rzymski was also titled USERN Best Young Science Ambassador in the end of 2021.
