Federation University of Poznan
On October 1st, 2021 the authorities of eight of Poznan’s public universities have signed a memorandum of understanding declaring continued efforts towards forming a federation.
With the ultimate goal of raising the profile of Poznan’s academic community in the world, the institutions aim to strengthen their cooperation in the areas of research, artistic activity, doctoral education, awarding academic degrees, promotion, and commercialization of research results. The document was signed by the rectors of:
- Adam Mickiewicz University,
- Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań,
- Poznań University of Economics and Business,
- Poznań University of Life Sciences,
- Poznan University of Medical Sciences,
- Poznan University of Physical Education,
- Poznan University of Technology,
- and University of the Arts Poznan.
The universities are currently working on the federation document that will legally finalize the integration efforts. Each constituent school will keep its independent organization and financial structures, but the federation agreement will stimulate a closer cooperation, and raise the overall quality and scope of research and education. As a legal entity The Federation University of Poznan will have a much stronger position in evaluation of research and other academic indicators, combining nearly all research fields, connecting over 100 thousand students and tens of thousands of faculty, researchers and staff.
