2nd Transatlantic Orthopaedic Live Surgery Broadcast 2020

We would like to shortly report the results of the 2nd Transatlantic Orthopaedic Live Surgery Broadcast 2020, which was held on-line on Monday, 16th of November 2020. The Webinar ‘s main theme was Pro- And Reactive Surgeries For Spastic Hip Disease In Cerebral Palsy Children and it was directed by prof. Marek Jóźwiak.

During this webinar multiple surgeries were broadcasted simultaneously from six operating theaters in: Munich, Germany; Poznan, Poland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Toronto, Canada; Willmington, DE, USA; Zakopane, Poland. Surgeries covered the wide spectrum of surgical technics addressed for the correction of lower limb deformities due to cerebral palsy with a special attention to the proactive and reactive treatment of spastic hip dislocation.

Thanks to this Webinar, participants had a unique chance to learn the basic surgical techniques used in the management of the orthopaedic problems of the patients with Cerebral Palsy, with the special emphasis on the open and minimally invasive techniques used in neuroorthopaedics.

The meeting was moderated by Dr. Bartosz Musielak from Poznan, Poland, while the surgeries were presented by the panel of international specialists in the field of neuroorthopedics, including:

  • Dr Tomasz Potaczek, University Hospital for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Zakopane, Poland
  • Dr Michael Wade Shrader, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Willmington, DE, USA

The webinar was watched live by an audience of about 7000 people from 28 countries with the highest number of participants from Poland, followed by India, France, Germany, and the United States of America (455, 426,417,407, and 390 attendees, respectively).
