This entails that also all examinations and public defenses of PhD thesis are cancelled, Library with the study room is closed as well as Physical Education and Sports Centre and PUMS Museum.

Please be informed that despite the fact that classes are cancelled, this time should be devoted to students self-study with the aid of online methods of learning. Academic teachers are asked to include necessary study materials in the AKSON system.

We recommend students to contact the Dean's Office by e-mail or by phone.

All conferences and workshops scheduled at PUMS facilities, including Library-Congress Center, are cancelled until further notice.

We have also ceased accommodation of new students at Dorms. Moreover, it is forbidden to invite visitors. Breaking these regulation will result in consequences specified in School Regulations and binding general law.

We ask students to limit social activity, refrain from travels and avoid public gatherings. Travels abroad are suspended until further notice.

Other activities of the University - especially scientific research, commission sessions, administrative work are not cancelled. Detailed schedule of PUMS activity until March 25, 2020 is specified by the Regulation of the Rector no 23/20 dated on March 12,2020.

At the same time we ask to be reasonable and not to be driven by social panic. We ask to obey the guidelines and recommendations included also in previous announcements:

1. Coronavirus is carried by droplet and at the moment there is no vaccine against the virus. It is possible, however, to limit the threat of infection in the same way as in the case of other diseases carried by droplet:
a) washing hands frequently according to WHO guidelines
b) covering the mouth and nose while sneezing with bent elbow or a tissue,
c) refraining from touching the eyes, nose and mouth,
d) keeping safe distance (at least one meter) from the people who have pulmonary symptoms (cough, runny nose).
e) avoiding greetings rituals (kissing, hugging, shaking hands)
2. Coronavirus is especially dangerous for the elderly and people with reduced immunity.
3. Students returning from abroad trips are asked to limit their social activity and stay at home for next two weeks.
Each time, these students must contact District Sanitary-Epidemiological Station in Poznań over the phone (tel. 61 646 78 60, 61 646 78 63) to carry out an epidemiological interview.
These students have to also notify the Dean's office by phone immediately after return.
4. People who have recently been to the regions infected with the virus or have had direct contact with such people or suspect such contact and at the same time have high fever, cough, dyspnea or breathing problems are asked to contact Infectious Diseases Ward at the Józef Struś Municipial Hospital in Poznań (2 Żelazna St.) or District Sanitary-Epidemiological Station (tel. 61 646 78 60, 61 646 78 63).
We ask not to go to the doctor on one’s own in such situation, but absolutely ask for special sanitary transport.
5. We cancel business trips of employees and students of our University. Business trips will not be funded by the University. In particularly justified cases, decisions will be taken individually by the Rector.
6. Since March 3, 2020 we have cancelled arrivals to Poland of students, PhD students and academic teachers from the above-mentioned regions within academic cooperation.
7. We recommend to follow the guidelines of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control related to the prevention against COVID-19 infection as well as the guidelines of Chief Sanitary Inspector and Ministry of Since and Higher Education.
8. We kindly ask to carefully follow updated information and recommendations from the Chief Sanitary Inspector and take only steps recommended accordingly.
